Beautiful Skies:

Updated: Feb 19

Have you ever taken the time to look out of your seat window on a plane?

Most people give up the opportunity of being seated in a window seat. Why, I often ask myself...window seats not only offer comfort allowing you to rest your pillow to one side on which to rest your head more comfortably when snoozing on your journey, but also to afford you the privilege of being able to view the sky at different times of day!

Of course, if you are fortunate enough to be flying business class, or even first class, then this is definitely not something that would immediately spring to mind, or is it something that you should still consider? After all, there are pods positioned by the window on each side of the plane too.

The skies above us offer a various crimson hues and crepuscular rays depending on the time of day.

I often sit on my journey and ponder on the awesome sights outside my window, utilising the time to practice pure mindfulness. There is something so peaceful about that open space outside. Untouched and totally unique.

"Sunrises & sunsets in the sky" I like to call them which offer a wonderful personal view right in front of your eyes. Just like the Northern Lights... the sky above us offers us a different phenomenon every day!

Remember to don your headphones and select a music channel to enhance your viewing experience. I often like to listen to soft classical, chilled or easy listening vocal music. I especially like listening to tunes that take you on a journey whilst gazing aimlessly into the cloud formations outside.

Don't take my word for it... next time you are stood at the airline check-in desk and you are offered a window seat, or mulling over your online seat selection, please remember to pause for a moment and think whether you maybe missing a one-off, never to be repeated, breathtaking view if you don't take that window seat.

You might just miss the experience of seeing an amazing sight, which may never to be seen again, plus the benefit of entering a peaceful state of mind, thus helping to wash away any troubles you may have, allowing you to arrive at your destination with a clear empty head and stress free. That special treasured moment could just remain in your memory for a very long time allowing you to recall it time and time again.

When seated in your new window seat option of course, you could just even consider capturing a quick photograph to share with your family and friends, combined with a short story about your experience. I often think a photo and a short story go hand in hand.

Try saying "yes" to a window seat next time you fly, as you will certainly not want to live to regret it.

Don't take my word for it!

Give it a try for once, you could possibly never look back...
